One hub for user research and VoC across five product teams
A financial crime detection software vendor consolidated feedback from surveys, support tickets, and customer interviews into a single Airtable base, applied a shared tagging taxonomy, and built a participant panel, giving UX Research, Design, Product Management, Customer Success, and Technical Writing a shared source of record tied directly to the roadmap.
The problem
Customer feedback arrived through disconnected tools: SurveyMonkey surveys, Zendesk tickets, product analytics signals, and Salesforce CRM data. With no shared tagging taxonomy, teams labeled the same theme differently, and roadmap decisions leaned on whoever had read the backlog most recently.
What they built
The vendor built a voice-of-customer hub in Airtable that consolidates feedback from SurveyMonkey, Zendesk, Salesforce, product analytics, and Snowflake under one shared tagging taxonomy. A participant panel tracks research interviews, and tagged opportunities link directly to roadmap records.
The outcome
Five teams now work from one source of record for user research and customer feedback, and the shared taxonomy ended inconsistent labeling. Product opportunities surface where prioritization decisions are made, and feedback no longer needs re-keying between tools.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The taxonomy is maintained as a shared reference table in the Airtable base. When any team member tags a feedback record, they select from the same controlled list of labels. This means a theme tagged by Customer Success and a theme tagged by UX Research use identical labels, making it possible to filter and aggregate across sources without reconciling different naming conventions.
The Snowflake integration allows warehouse data to flow into the Airtable base directly, so the research team does not need to export files or copy records by hand. Relevant data surfaces in the hub alongside feedback from other tools, and the team applies the same tagging taxonomy to it as they do to survey and support data.
The participant panel records contact details, prior participation history, product area affiliation, and availability notes for each research candidate. When the team needs participants for a study or interview, they filter the panel by relevant criteria rather than starting from scratch with a new list each time.
Opportunity records created from tagged insights are linked directly to roadmap items using Airtable's relational fields. A product manager can open a roadmap record and see the underlying customer observations that informed it, and conversely a researcher can open a tagged insight and see which roadmap items it connects to.
Yes. The intake structure supports any text-based feedback source. Notes from analyst interviews and customer advisory board sessions can be added as records in the hub and tagged using the shared taxonomy, so they are searchable alongside survey responses and support tickets without any special handling.
